While it is rare, unfortunately, it happens.

Setting Up A Levoit Air Purifier

Setting up a Levoit air purifier should be simple.

  1. After you remove the unit from the package, turn it upside down.
  2. Next, remove the cover by turning it counterclockwise and removing the filter. 
  3. Then remove the plastic from your filter and put it back in the unit.
  4. Put the cover back on by twisting it clockwise. This should lock the filter in place. 
  5. After you have put the filter back in, turn the unit right side up.
  6. Place it on a flat and stable surface so that the display faces up.

Make sure other objects are not too close to the unit so that airflow is not blocked. 

The next step is to download the VeSync app on a smart device. Make an account or log in to your account and follow the set-up instructions on the app.

You can use this app to connect your unit to an Alexa or Google Assistant device.

Levoit Air Purifier Not Powering On

If your Levoit air purifier will not power on or respond when you hit the buttons, the first thing you should do is make sure it is plugged into an outlet that is getting power.

You can test another appliance by plugging it into the same outlet or by plugging your unit into another outlet.

If this was not the problem, inspect the cord for damage.

If your air purifier’s cord has damage, it is important to stop use immediately and contact customer support.

If the cord does not have any damage, it means your device is malfunctioning. In this case, you will need to contact customer support.

To reset the check filter light (you should do this if the light did not turn off after you replaced the filter), turn the air purifier on and hold down the check filter indicator button for three seconds.

If your unit is beeping, it likely means that it needs to be reset. To do this, first, make sure your unit is plugged in but turned off. Then hold down the filter reset light for at least 3 seconds.

Hold and press the button down for at least 3 seconds. Once the light is turned off, the reset is complete. 

If this did not work to reset your air purifier, try holding the filter reset light for at least 5 seconds each time.

You can also try unplugging your unit and leaving it unplugged for at least 30 minutes before plugging it back in.

If this did not solve the problem, touch the fan symbol on the display to increase the fan speed. Your Levoit air purifier may be in sleep mode, which runs the fan at the quietest speed.

Tap the sleep mode button on its display to turn off sleep mode. 

If your fan is still blowing at a reduced speed, check that there is enough clearance around all sides of the air purifier. 

If your air purifier is still not blowing hard enough, the next step is to clean the pre-filter of hair and lint. This could be blocking airflow. If this did not help, replace the entire filter.

Resetting The Levoit Air Purifier

If you have been running your air purifier in a heavily polluted room, your filter will not last as long and will stop cleaning the air after a while.

If you notice that your air purifier is no longer filtering out particles from the air but the filter reset button has not turned on, it is a good idea to reset your air purifier.

If resetting your unit did not solve the issue, try unplugging the unit for at least 30 minutes then plugging it back in. 

Can You Leave A Levoit Air Purifier On All The Time?

Yes, you can run your Levoit air purifier all day. To save on energy costs, it is a good idea to run the purifier at max speed for 20 or 30 minutes in problem areas, then set it to auto mode or run it at a low speed. 

How Do You Know If You Need To Change The Filter?

With the Levoit air purifier, you should change the filter every six months. If your unit runs in heavily polluted areas, you may have to replace the filter more often.

The replacement filter light should come on when the filter needs replaced.

When the replacement filter light comes on, it doesn’t always mean you need to replace the filter. The 6-month rule is a general rule.

The environment your air purifier is in affects how long the filter lasts. 

Watch for signs that you should replace your filter. Indicators that you need to replace the filter include:
